Create a calendar system for yourself. Be flexible and remember to have fun.

Start with small can do piles of that filing that you said you would do.

Find an area of your life where you would like to start. It might be the never ending junk mail that keeps growing like it’s found a place and is now spilling into your eating area of the family table.

Cluttering purpose areas like eating or office areas deny’s you the perfect place for a relaxing unwinding with that glass of your favourite beverage, whilst enjoying every morsel of that mouth watering dinner you or your partner cooked. Clear out,  give yourself the enjoyable spaces back.

Accomplish this small goal and you will be blessed with the motivation to keep going!

You don’t need to empty your wallet to get organised. Unless its full of stuff you don’t need

 

  • It really helps to have someone with you to help you to get started in some areas that needs maximum organising and you’re not sure where to start.  They can also push you through those hard let go’s.
  • Get together start in the cupboard or that closet door that is bulging at the sides with these empty meaning less I will one day paraphernalia or I just put it there because I didn’t know where else to put it.  

Be kind & generous – not just to yourself: someone else might get use out of an item, you know the type of item that was bought for some reason but has not been used and has no reason for it to be here any longer.  Let it go to a home that needs it. Remember, if you are not using it you don’t need it.

This item will not stay in this home buried in the cabinet, I will put it in the garage sale (by the way the garage or yard sale IS happening) say “Yes I Can, Just Do It”!

Consider the financial benefits of selling your stuff at a garage sale or donate to those that need it.

  • Box similar items together, a good way to clean out closets is to store out of season clothing.
  • Don’t run the risk of clutter and chaos spreading to other parts of your life.
  • Trash it if an item is not worth someone buying or repairing it.
  • Repeat the words – Yes I Can, Just Do It

Monitor yourself. Create a place for each item. If the items are cluttering an area up and if you really need them, come up with a storage solution that fits best.

Don’t trip over your own excuses:

You know what I’m talking about. One excuse after another to yourself. We all harbour resentment but it’s the letting go that helps. We all do it. Just triple check yourself and listen to the excuses you create. Then dump them if they don’t serve you. Now’s the time.

Lastly, reward yourself. Letting go physical ‘stuff’ will take emotional work on your part. So you have earned the right to celebrate and reward yourself. Just do it.
